Steven Floyd James

LOGANSPORT — Steven Floyd James, 63, rural Logansport/Lake Cicott area, suffered a heart attack and passed away unexpectedly at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at his residence.

 Born Jan. 3, 1949, in Cass County, he was the son of the late Ralph “Buck” James and Irene Hayden James. His mother survives.

 A lifelong resident of Adams Township in Carroll County, Steve farmed and raised hogs with his parents on the family farm. He was always ready to enjoy a cup of coffee with the many friends who would stop by to visit.

 Surviving with his mother are four sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Steve Temple, Logansport, Sandy and Joe Kistler, Camden, Teresa and Michael Long, Burnettsville, and Pamela and Jeff Duncan, Logansport; seven nieces; three nephews; twelve great-nieces and five great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, who died on Dec. 25, 1990.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Nord Zootman, pastor of the Lockport Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Seceder Cemetery, not far from Steve’s home.

Friends may call from noon until time of services Thursday in the funeral chapel.

Expressions of sympathy may best be given in his memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral chapel.
