Jeanette Hunter

ROCHESTER — Jeanette Hunter, 94, Rochester, passed away at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Life Care Center of Rochester.

She was born on April 10, 1918 in Fulton County, Indiana, the daughter of Howard and Vida (Collins) Mutchler. On June 25, 1938, in Kosciusko County, Indiana, she married Clurel T. Hunter. He preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1993.

Jeanette retired from Switches in Logansport and had been a homemaker. She was a 50-year-plus member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Moose Lodge and the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her friends as well as spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Survivors include her children, Sara and husband Howard Hoffman, Rochester, Ind., Donna and husband Steve Rude, Rochester, Ind., Dianne and husband Jim Smith, Plymouth, Ind., Cynthia and husband Larry Biggs, Logansport, Ind., Phillip and wife Cherlyn Hunter, Crawfordsville, Ind., son-in-law, Robert Hurley, Indianapolis, Ind., grandchildren, Monte Hoffman, Tiffany Raidy, Melissa Gamel, Michael Rude, Thomas Rude, Andy Rude, Charlie Rude, Debra Hartwell, Paul Garver, Penny Garver, David Garver, Pat Garver, Peggy Garver, Kari Sherwood, Alan Biggs, Martin Biggs, Richard Biggs, P.J. Hurley, Matthew Hurley, Kenneth Hunter, Jeremy Hunter, Emily Hunter, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, brother, John and wife Marjorie Mutchler, Rochester, Ind., sisters, Frances Herrell, Oxford, Wis., Ruth Lease, Lucerne, Ind., several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Linda Hunter, and Nedra Hurley, great-granddaughter, sisters, Pauline Mutchler, Isabell Linden, Josephine Tuley, Martha Reeser, brother, Donald “Pete” Mutchler.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Rochester, Ind., with the Dr. Mark Spencer officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester, Ind., and one hour prior to service at the church. Eastern Star services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Kewanna I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Kewanna, Ind.
