Ken Arthur Grant

KOKOMO — Ken Arthur Grant, 64, Kokomo, passed away at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Waterford Place Health Campus.

He was born in Logansport on Oct. 31, 1948, to the late Paul and Ruby V. Grant (Gooch). Ken was a 1967 graduate of Logansport High School.  

Ken was in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1991. While in the military, he received the Commendation Medal, Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, a Service Medal with a Bronze Star, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal along with many other outstanding awards.

Ken worked at Chrysler Corp. and was a member of U.A.W Local 1166, American Legion, and Local Chapter of D.A.V., he also enjoyed using his iPad, and listening to Southern Gospel Quartets.

Survivors include his wife, Janis M. Grant; two sons, Johnathan E. Grant and Ken Grant Jr.; and two brothers, Rex Grant and wife Martha, and Paul Grant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruby Grant.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, Kokomo. Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the mortuary, with Pastor Jay McKinley officiating.

Memorials in Ken’s memory may be made to Grace Fellowship Church of Logansport, 1701 E. Market St., Logansport, or the Disabled American Veterans Association, P.O. Box 81, Kokomo.

Burial will be 2:30 p.m. in Ever-Rest Memorial, Logansport. There will be military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force and the Kokomo Military Rites Team at the cemetery.
