LOGANSPORT —
The Rev. Garth D. Smith, 95, Logansport, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Millers Merry Manor, Logansport.
Born on Dec. 24, 1917, he was the son of the late Charles Edgar and Nettie Marie Bender Smith. On June 27, 1987, in Logansport, he married Beverly J. Lamunion, who survives.
Mr. Smith was a retired minister serving many churches in Michigan.
Surviving with his wife are two step-sons, Jay (Vickie Fawn) Stratton and Michael Dean (Janet) Stratton, both of Logansport; one step-daughter, Loretta Lynn (James F.) Carey, Intersection City, Fla.; six stepgrandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and eight sisters.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Gundrum Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom DeFries officiating.
Burial will be in Kewanna IOOF Cemetery, Kewanna. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
