Richard “Dick” K. DeWitt, 70, Logansport, passed away at 12:13 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 24, 1942, in Rochester, to the late Charles Clifford and Marjorie G. Shambarger DeWitt. On May 28, 1966, in Logansport, Dick married Carol Ristedt who survives.
He was the owner and operator of West Side Transmission Repair.
Dick was a 1961 graduate of Logansport High School. He is a member of the NHRA, and enjoyed working on cars.
Surviving along with his wife is one daughter, Cassie Grandstaff and fiance Tim Hodgini, Logansport, one son, Sean DeWitt, Royal Center, five grandchildren; Crystle Vaughan, Kokomo; Megan Vaughan, Tyler
Grandstafff, and Holland DeWitt, all of Logansport, Brooklyn DeWitt, Cayuga, Ind., and one sister, Barbara (Jim) Raisor, Logansport.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Ed Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Gundrum Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
