George A. Kneifel

UNION MILLS — George A. Kneifel, 73, Union Mills, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Porter Regional Hospital.

He was born on Oct. 7, 1939, in Kouts the son of Fred A. and Lillian K. (Jensen) Kneifel.

George was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had worked as a machinist at Rex Am. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wanatah, St. Vincent DePaul at church, and United Steel Workers Union Local 6787, where he was President of the SOAR Group.

On Aug. 17, 1979, in Kouts, George married Frances E. Evers who survives along with five children, Larry Worthington, LaPorte, Cliff Worthington, Plano, Texas, Chris (Kellie) Worthington, Logansport, Connie (Don) Satoski, Union Mills, and Teresa Kneifel, Wheatfield, nine grandchildren, Clinton Worthington, Brett, Cody, Sydney, and Reed Satoski, Ashlee McKinney, Zachary Worthington, and Shawn and Haley Cox, five great grandchildren and two brothers, Rich Kneifel and Carl (Mary) Kneifel, both of Kouts.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Dylan Satoski.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wanatah, with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Wanatah Funeral Chapel, Wanatah.
