Elizabeth L. ‘Liz’ Fritts

LAFAYETTE — Elizabeth L. “Liz” Fritts, 90, Lafayette, died at 10:38 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Indiana University Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, where she had been a patient for the past 10 days.

Elizabeth was born in Logansport, Dec. 9, 1922, the daughter of the late Aloysius and Margaret Roach Hollie. She attended Fort Wayne schools and was a graduate of St. Vincent Orphanage High School.  Elizabeth married Donald A. Fritts June 10, 1941, in Logansport, and he preceded her in death Nov. 14, 1999.

She worked as a receptionist at Arnett Clinic for many years, retiring in 1984, and later worked in the professional library at St. Elizabeth Hospital from 1994 until her recent illness.

Elizabeth was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna Pillittere of Lewisville, Texas; Joni Bratcher of West Lafayette; two sons, Ronald Fritts of Kokomo, and Eric Fritts of Chicago; and by three sisters, Mary Craighead of Fort Wayne; Agnes Hollie of Lafayette, and Cecilia Wilson of Logansport. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Helms and a brother, Martin Hollie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Lafayette, Father Tim Aklire and Father Paul Graf officiating, with entombment to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

There will be no visitation.
