Jackie Reed, 56, Pulaski, died at 1:23 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.
Born May 12, 1955, in Flint, Mich., she was the daughter of Barbara Brown Bowers. Jackie married James Terry Harris Sr. in 1969. He died in 1987. She married Ronald Reed on July 4, 1994, in Pulaski. He survives. She and Ron made their home in Pulaski.
Jackie worked as a robotic welder at Emerson (McGill) in Monticello.
She was also a co-owner and business partner with Ron in Reed’s Decks and Garages. Jackie had also worked as a supervisor at Landis Plastics in Monticello.
She enjoyed gardening, swimming in her pool, family get-togethers and cookouts. She also enjoyed going to bluegrass music festivals with Ron. Jackie loved to return home to Tennessee to visit friends and family. She especially enjoyed the Holcomb family reunions and the music that family members played there.
Jackie suffered from pancreatic cancer for nine months with her husband Ron as her primary caregiver.
Surviving are her husband, Ronald Reed, Star City; stepdaughter, Erica (Rolland) Wilson, Muncie; four stepgrandchildren; sisters, Tina (Joe) Rice, Monticello, Tammy Capes, Lafayette, and Robin (Dave) Wade, Monon; brother, Brent Bowers, Monticello; mother-in-law, Sally Holcomb Reed, Winamac; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gordi Reed, Winamac, Richard Reed, LaPorte, Tom Reed, Indianapolis, Connie Odle, Winamac, Mike Reed, Morton, Ill., Sharon Wessinger, Florida, Gary Reed, Winamac, and Regina Dilts, Winamac.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Brown Bowers; husband, James Terry Harris Sr.; son, Jamie Harris; brother, Robert Bowers; father-in-law, Gordon W. Reed; and sister-in-law, Peggy Reeves.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Frain Mortuary with Pastor David Norris and Butch Wildermuth officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Presbyterian Cemetery, Pulaski.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
