WINAMAC —
Mary J. Southern, 74, Winamac, was called home to be with the Lord at 10:37 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, in her residence.
Born Nov. 23, 1939, in Clark County, Ill., she was the daughter of George and Mary Gladys Rardin Buschemeyer.
Mary had been a QMA in various nursing home. She had also been a cosmetologist and cosmetology instructor.
She was married in 1997 to Max Southern, who survives residing in Winamac.
Also surviving are daughters, Bonnie (Fred) Hendrix, Peru, Vickie Smith, Roseboro, N.C., Mary (Paul) Bakehorn, Wabash, and Donna Donaldson, Denver, sons, Chuck Mann, Fort Wayne, and Robert Mann (Amy), Lafayette, a sister, Wilda Johnson, Shelbyville, Tenn., 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Andrew Smedley, a brother, Chester Buschemeyer, and two sisters, Betty Sweet and Audrey Cunningham.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to Gospel music, sewing, painting and studying the Bible
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kroeger Funeral Home with Pastor David Norris, Calvary Baptist Church of Winamac, officiating. Interment will be in Denver Westlawn Cemetery, Denver, Ind.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
