Gerry Richard Harmon, 60, Logansport, passed away at 4:52 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana, Indianapolis.
Born in Logansport Oct. 6, 1952, he was the son of Charles and Mary Anders Harmon. His father survives, residing in Peru.
A 1970 graduate of Logansport High School, Gerry had been employed at Rockwell International and various construction firms. He served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of the Lafayette and Kokomo Laborers’ Unions.
Gerry enjoyed IU basketball, playing pool and watching NASCAR racing. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandson, Cameron.
Surviving are sons, Cory (Dawn) Harmon, Royal Center, Nathan Harmon, Logansport; daughter, Jennifer (Bryan) Anderson, Yelm, Wash.; grandchildren, Brooke and Austin Harmon, Royal Center, Taylor and Bryce Anderson, Yelm, Wash., and Cameron Harmon, Logansport.
Also surviving are sisters, Sherry (Robin) Adair, Logansport, and Janet (Stan) Zahorsky, Edina, Minn., one aunt, Linda (Ed) Terry, Monticello, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Hope Cemetery. Pastor Ed Johnson will officiate.
Family and friends will gather at Amelio’s and Ike’s from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association or the American Diabetes Foundation.
