GALVESTON —
Roland G. “Ron” Hosier, 74, Kokomo, formerly of Galveston, died at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Northwoods Village.
He was born May 12, 1938, in Galveston, to the late Harry and Irene Ronk Hosier. Ron served in the U.S. Marines from 1953 until 1957. On Oct. 20, 1978, he married Nancy Pence, who survives. Ron owned and operated Hosier Standard Service for over 50 years in Galveston.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hosier; children, Michael A. (Cassie) Stater, Forest, Tamara L. (Christopher) Bowser, Kokomo, and Beth Hosier, Indianapolis; grandchildren, Stephanie Stater, Garrett Stater, Jacob Ryan, Makayla Ryan, Logan Hawkins, Tanner Bowser, and Savannah Bowser; sisters, Margie (Clarence) Timmons, Carolyn (Ted) Kratzer, Jean (Robert) Wilkin, Jane Bailey (Bob) Brown, Linda (Jim) Carden and Connie (Robert) Robey; and a special friend of the family, Kirk Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles, Paul, Harry Jr. and Donald Hosier; sisters, Barbara Gearheart, Donna Mae Baxter, Juanita McHale and Anna Warner; and two brothers-in-law, Clarence Timmons and Jack Bailey.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Paul Sutherland officiating. Burial will follow in Galveston Cemetery, with military rites provided by the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team.
Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
