Charles L. Camp


Charles L. Camp, 91, Cocoa, Fla., formerly of Logansport passed away at 9:02 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2010, at his residence in Cocoa.

Born Oct. 14, 1918, in Logansport, he was the son of Henry H. and Edith Shinn Camp. He was married on Aug. 26, 1941, in Cass County, to Marjorie E. “Sue” Plank, who preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 2003.

Charles retired in 1981 as an equipment technician for General Telephone Company. A veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, he was a life member of VFW Post 3790, American Legion Post 60 and the NRA.

A 50-year Mason, he was formerly a member of Tipton Lodge 33 F&AM;, and a current member of Brevard Lodge 113 F&AM.;

Surviving are two sons, Robin Louis (Sharon) Camp, and Corbin Curtis Camp, all of Cocoa, Fla.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel, followed by full military honors.

The Rev. Ken Smith will officiate at the services.

Friends may call from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the cemetery chapel.

A Masonic service will be held at the time of the funeral service.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
