Kenneth E. Deitrich

Kenneth E. Deitrich, 80, Logansport, died at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010, in his residence.

He was born Oct. 20, 1929, in Logansport, the son of Robert and Jessie Gertrude Soncarty Deitrich.

He was married March 22, 1953, in the Galveston Methodist Church to Carole Sue Smith.

He was a farmer, and he was a member of Clymers United Methodist Church, Tipton Masonic Lodge 33, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Temple of Indianapolis, Logansport Shrine Club, Indiana Farm Bureau, Farm Bureau Credit Union trustees, Elks Lodge 66, American Legion Post 60, Voiture 729 of the 40 & 8, VFW Post 3790 and the Clymers Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Deitrich was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Carole Sue Deitrich, Logansport; two daughters, Sandra Heckard and husband John, Logansport, and Beth Flagg and husband Richard, New Haven; a son, Duane Deitrich and wife, Theresa, Logansport; grandchildren, Matthew Heckard and wife Jessica, Acton, Kimberly and husband Jeff Pursch, Noblesville, Zachary Deitrich, Logansport, Baleigh Deitrich, Logansport, Brooklyn Nicoson and husband Matt, Zionsville, Erika Lynn Dubois, Evansville; Kyle Dubois, Lafayette, and Jessica Dubois, Fort Wayne; three great-grandchildren, Makenzie Lynn, Alexander and Ruby; and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Ronald Deitrich, preceded in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Gundrum Funeral Home, with Pastor Kevin Drane and Pastor Mark Gaylor officiating. Burial, with full military rites, will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be 2–8 p.m. today in Gundrum Funeral Home. Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. today followed by a Shrine processional.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Clymers Volunteer Fire Department or the Clymers United Methodist Church.
