Elnora W. Baker, 91, Kewanna, passed away at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Hickory Creek in Winamac.
Born June 14, 1919, in Miami County, she was the daughter of the late William and Mabel (Miller) Yoder. On Nov. 11, 1938, she married Forrest M. Baker and he preceded in death Oct. 29, 2009.
She was a 1937 Royal Center High School graduate. Her father passed away in 1921 so the man she called “dad” most of her life was her stepfather, the late Joseph E. Bucks.
Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and a member of Kewanna United Methodist Church and a former member of Royal Center Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling, canoeing and helping friends, and she especially loved to spend time with her family. She also treasured their time living at Lake Bruce.
Survivors include her son, Bruce M. Baker and his wife, Denise; daughter, Karen J. Good and her husband, Joe, all of Kewanna; brother, Larry Bucks and his wife, Pat, Rochester; four grandchildren, Kelly Smith (Mark), Jeffrey J. Good (Tonya), Ryan Baker (Leslie) and Daniel Baker (Andrea); eight great-grandchildren, Lindsay Smith, Kara Smith, Zachary Smith, Sami Good, Jeffery J. Good, Tosha Nice, Allie Nice and Devin Good; and one great-great-grandson, Shayne Good. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, William T. Yoder.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, 123 E. Main St., Kewanna.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the time of service at the funeral home.
Pastors David Sommers and Chris Tiedeman will officiate at the service and burial will be in Citizens IOOF Cemetery, Kewanna.
