LOGANSPORT —
Arthur John “Art” Fate, 90, Logansport, formerly of Lansing, Mich., passed away at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, in his residence.
Born Jan. 29, 1922, in South Haven, Mich., he was the son of John and Gertrude Hall Fate. He was married to Adeline Mary Jakubs, who preceded him in death on June 30, 2010.
A 1940 graduate of South Haven high school, Art retired in 1985 as vice president of Gilbert Lumber Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are daughters, Pamela (George) Voltz, Logansport, Valerie Fate (Jim) Beers, Fort Collins, Colo., and Lynn Fate, Plainfield, Mass.; son, Ronald (Dianne) Fate, Lakeland, Ga.; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Gladys Schlaak and Bernice Labiak, preceded him in death.
Interment will be private.
