Helen L. Holmes Wagner

Helen L. Holmes Wagner, 81, Logansport, passed away at 3:50 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born Feb. 3, 1931, in Monticello, she was the daughter of the late Ernest R. and Mary E. Cohee Magee. She was married to D. Edwin Holmes who preceded her in death in 1959. She later married Peter Wagner Jr., who preceded her in death in 1992.

A homemaker, Helen was an excellent seamstress and had made several beautiful quilts. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening. She leaves behind many years of research into family genealogy.

Surviving are one son, David Holmes and his wife Debby of Logansport; one daughter, Beth Adduci and her husband Rich of Westborough, Mass.; four stepsons, Tom Holmes and his wife Dixie of Brookston, Don Holmes and his wife Alice of Franklin, Ga., Kenny Holmes and his wife Jean of Monticello and Richard Holmes and his wife Jennifer of Monticello; two stepdaughters, Loretta Beach of Florida and Dianna Larson of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; stepson-in-law, Bill Bowman of Logansport; five grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Spradling, Alex (Joyce) Holmes, Collin (fiancee Anna Douglass) Holmes, all of Logansport, and Rachel and Nathan Adduci of Westborough, Mass.; two great-grandchildren, Rylinn and Katelynn Spradling; five stepgrandchildren, Steve (Tressa) Bowman, Bryan (Pearline) Bowman, Tammy (Matt) Ruel, Jeremy (Lia) Larson and Suzie Larson; and several step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by stepson, Jim Holmes, and his wife Sue; stepson, Peter “Butch” Wagner III; stepdaughter, Mary Bowman; and stepsons-in-law, Bill Beach and Russell Larson.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fisher Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Riverview IOOF, Monticello.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service Tuesday in the funeral chapel.
