Glenna B. Haschel

WINAMAC — Glenna B. Haschel, 85, Winamac, died at 12:10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in Wintersong Village, Knox.

Glenna was born Feb. 8, 1927, in Delong to parents Francis Kelly and Jeaneave Faulkner Kelly.

She married Ray Edward Haschel Nov. 20, 1948, in Culver. Ray died Oct. 28, 1998.

Glenna had worked as a cashier at the A&P Grocery in Winamac for many years. She had also worked as a telephone switchboard  operator in Monterey and Winamac.

Glenna earned a pilot license as a young woman and maintained it for many years. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher. She gave many wild flower presentations to groups over the years. She especially loved going on Mayflower tours. She had traveled to all 50 states and to seven foreign countries. Glenna was an avid NASCAR racing fan. Her favorite driver was Dale Jarrett.

Glenna was a lifetime member of the OES 96 in Winamac.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. (EST) Tuesday at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Frain Mortuary.

Memorial contributions can be made to OES 96 Winamac.
