LeRoy “Junior” Battering, 54, Logansport, passed away at 6:25 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Logansport Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born on Jan. 1, 1959, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Lee Roy and Virginia (Hamlin) Battering. His adopted parents were Rollin and Udeania Vice.
LeRoy loved spending his time fishing, hunting and mushroom hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer (Gibbs) Battering, Logansport, son, Mickey S. Wohlford, Kokomo, adopted sons, Ryan (Amber) Cart, and Jason (Rachel) Cart, both of Logansport, daughters, Kalie Benefiel and Megan Benefiel, Logansport, brothers, Michael Battering, Fla., Chuck (Dorothy) Clifton, Lafayette, and Rollin (Vickie) Vice J.R., Fla., sisters, Kathy Battering, Fla., Lynda (Bill) Rossiter, Idaho, Lora (Randy) Hadsock, Fla., Charlene Bresanhan, and Linda Knowell, both of Lafayette, sister-in-law; Wendy Jones, Lafayette, special niece and nephew Jerry Battering Jr. and Destiny Garcia, both of Lafayette. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and 11 loving grandchildren.
LeRoy was preceded in death by daughter, Stephanie Battering, brother, Jerry W. Battering, and sister, Sheila Battering.
Services will be at 8 p.m. Friday at his mother’s house, 731 Barclay St., Logansport.
Friends may call from noon until the time of service, with a Toast of Life at 6:25 p.m.
