The Pharos-Tribune gives this Rose to Cass County officials:

The Anoka Bridge was demolished this week. It’s been a long time coming. Built in 1930, Cass County Bridge 203 has been out of service since 2004 and has been deteriorating ever since.

While it’s sad to see a piece of history go, the bridge was a tragic accident waiting to happen. Kudos to Cass County officials for taking action on the project.

New owner steps up, breathes new life into old theater

The Pharos-Tribune give this Rose to Bill Alger:

Shortly after Bill Alger bought the State Theater, he learned the city had begun talks with developers on a new multiplex. He could have easily thrown his hands up, called it a waste and walked away. But he didn’t.

Instead, he’s investing in a new future for the old theater, turning it into The Shindig, a venue that will provide live entertainment. While some are upset with the name change, let’s all be thankful the historic building remains in caring hands.

Board brings country acts to county fair this summer

The Pharos-Tribune gives this Rose to the Cass County Fair Board:

Kudos to the fair board for again snagging two up-and-coming country stars — Dustin Lynch and Thomas Rhett — for this summer’s fair. Here’s hoping for another successful concert night at the fair. It’s a great evening for residents to get out and enjoy the fair.
