Time to study election issues

— It’s time to play “Are you aware?”

Are you aware that 150 million American taxpayer stimulus dollars have gone to a Korean company to manufacture batteries for electric cars? Are you aware that the wealthy who buy a Chevy Volt are being subsidized by American taxpayers? Are you aware that there are communities in the United States of America where law officials return women to abusive domestic situations because they recognize and allow the practice of Islamic Sharia law? Are you aware that there is federal land in southern Arizona that has been invaded by armed “reconquistadors” from Mexico who vow to “reconquer” America? Are you aware that the response of our federal government to this invasion is to post signs warning Americans that it is dangerous to travel in those areas? Are  you aware that Dr. Don Berwick, the presidential appointee as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid government health programs, openly advocates for redistributional, rationed health care? Are you aware the recently passed national health care bill contains a provision for every American to have their body mass index documented in their electronic medical record by 2014? Are you aware that there are some municipalities that have proposed banning the use of salt in cooking at public restaurants?

There is not space in the context of a letter to the editor to properly document all of the above observations. Each and every one of them has factual documentation. If this is not the America you experienced and imagined as you grew up, then it is up to you to be part of the

solution.

Prior to the November elections, I invite you to become familiar with the facts, study them diligently, and think seriously about the direction this nation is being led. I invite you to make your political choices accordingly.
