Voters in Carroll County will go to the polls to vote on consolidation.

In the jamboree at Kokomo, Logansport defeated Marion 7-6 but lost to Kokomo 7-0.

Lee Thompson, 30, has joined the Delphi Police Department.

Joe Scagnoli of Logansport, who lost only one North Central Conference tennis match last season, has won the 46-player Interlochen Tennis Tournament in Michigan.

A sock hop will be held at the National Guard armory.

In the marquis matchup in Indiana high school football, Richmond has ended East Chicago Roosevelt’s 13-game winning streak.

H.P. Sherrick is the crossing guard at Longfellow Elementary at Eighth and High streets.

Young Bob Crispen is cleaning his parents’ car in Bringhurst.

Rob Maynard scored the only points of the game on a short run as Peru opened its season with a 6-0 win over Monticello. The game ended with Monticello driving inside the Peru 10.

100 Years Ago

A 12-horsepower tractor owned by John Dodt of Harrison Township went through a bridge, damaging the tractor engine.

Kate Hale, daughter of attorney C.E. Hale, has accepted a teaching position in Gary.

Fred McDonald was hurt when a lever slipped a gear, striking him in the head.

Warren Sturgeon had the winning horse in the third race at the Fulton County Fair.

Sam Betts of Walton haswed Nettie Walters of Onward.

“Ma’s New Husband” is drawing people to the Nelson Theater.

Lucinda Purviance has been wed in Deer Creek.

Frost has already been reported in several townships, but there has been no crop damage.
