City shouldn’t charge for trash
Charging citizens a fee for trash removal when we’re already taxed to the hilt is an absolute outrage. You’re telling me there’s no unnecessary spending or waste in our city? Please. Ah, how grand life would be if I could run my family budget like a government entity. Instead of cutting back and making sacrifices, I could simply go to my neighbors and take money from them to make ends meet.

Theft allegations more than rumors
In reference to the comments concerning theft allegations of the mall manager, June 18 and 23, why are these two ladies referring to them as rumors?
If my memory is correct, the news story stated that she had admitted guilt to the officer doing the investigation and had even paid back a very small portion of the money after initially being questioned.
Let me state that I do not know this woman. I did not even recognize her name, nor do I know anyone who does know her. The two ladies that wrote to the Public Forum in her defense stated that she was a great, very caring woman, which she may very well be. Unfortunately, for some people, the temptation is far too great, and they should not place themselves in a position where they take the risk at being publicly humiliated when caught.
How ironic that the last mall manager was charged and found guilty of the exact crime!

Thanks for help in time of need
The family of Fred Curtis wishes to thank all of the extremely wonderful people who extended their thoughts, prayers and cards of sympathy. We also want to thank Fisher Funeral Chapel, hospice, Angels of Mercy and Cross-Wind’s minister, Dr. George Plasterer, the graciousness of cooks who brought food to the house, the servers at the church and the color guard from Grissom Air Reserve Base.
To all of you and more, we wish to give you our gratitude.
