The Logansport-Cass County area is full of people willing to volunteer to help make their community a better place to live. Case in point: Live United Day.
One project was near and dear to my heart; the Fairview Elementary playground project. Having spent nearly 3 ½ years raising money for the new playground equipment and surfacing, we still needed to complete the project by installing all the equipment on our property.
Enter Josh Hopper, Matt Lewellen, Paul Linback, and Jim Cook. With unstoppable determination and perseverance, these gentlemen organized, planned, and worked to make our dream of a new playground a reality. Mere thank yous really do not do them justice. Not only were these men instrumental in seeing this project come to fruition, but many other individuals and organizations jumped on board to support this worthwhile cause. Steinberger Construction, IMI Concrete, Logan Savings Bank, Noon Kiwanis, Rotary, Angie’s Catering and Cakes, the Logansport Community School Corporation maintenance crew, The Andersons, Century Career Center, Fairview Elementary staff and PTG and countless individual students, parents and donors were all part of why Logansport is a great place to work and live.
Dreams really do come true, and thanks to these amazing visionaries, our playground is proof of it!
