LOGANSPORT — A Logansport man convicted of burglary received a 12-year sentence Thursday in Cass Superior Court I.
Zachary Davidson, 21, is to serve four years in the Department of Correction, two years on work release from the Cass County Jail, if eligible, two years on in-home detention and four years on probation for stealing pallets from local businesses and an X-Box 360 from a neighbor in July of 2006.
Davidson, who was accompanied by his father, 48-year-old Winston W. Davidson, was apprehended by Logansport Police with eight pallets. Police later discovered a stockpile of more than 80 stolen pallets at the Logansport home of Winston Davidson, who was also arrested.
As part of the plea agreement, Davidson was ordered by the court to pay restitution in an amount to be determined to Big Lots, D&R; Fruit Market, Rural King, Pasquale Trucking and Matthew Warren.
Two days after the pallet incident, Davidson was arrested on a theft charge for breaking into his neighbor’s home and stealing an X-Box 360.
Davidson was also ordered to pay restitution to his former neighbor and stay away from Yorktown Apartments.
Cass Superior Court I Judge Thomas Perrone presided over the sentencing. Jim Knight was Davidson’s public defender.
