Man charged with being naked in Eel River

Logansport Police responded to reports of a man standing in the Eel River — naked.

The indecent incident occurred around 3 p.m. Thursday along the River Bluff Trail, just down river of the dam. The man, identified as 37-year-old Joel Hernandez of Logansport, was arrested and charged with public indecency.

Witnesses told police they saw Hernandez fondling his genitals.

When police got Hernandez back to his clothes piled on the riverbank, they inquired why he was standing naked. He reportedly told them he wanted to experience what the water felt like and he did not have shorts to wear.
