Police blotter, Oct. 24

Thursday

7:09 a.m. — Criminal mischief. Someone reportedly broke out the rear window in a vehicle parked in the 200 block of West Miami Avenue. Logansport Police Department.

8:47 a.m. — Theft. Someone reportedly stole a tool bag from a vehicle in the 600 block of North Third Street. LPD.

10:18 a.m. — Arrest. Saul Maldonado, 28, Chicago, was arrested on a charge of failure to appear. Cass County Sheriff’s Department.

1:32 p.m. — Arrest. Paul Steven Aviles, 28, Grovertown, was arrested on a charge of failure to appear. CCSD.

1:49 p.m. — Arrest. Bryan Allen Barton, 20, Logansport, was arrested on a charge of domestic battery. LPD.

2:40 p.m. — Arrest. Paula Nichole Abbott, 25, Logansport, was arrested on two counts of failure to appear. LPD.

3:58 p.m. — Arrest. Douglas Lyle Laplante, 50, Logansport, was arrested on a warrant. LPD.

4:16 p.m. — Property-damage accident, 825W and 200N. A vehicle driven by Jay W. McVay, 62, Lake Cicott, collided with a vehicle driven by Jennifer R. Grandstaff, 36, Lake Cicott. CCSD.

5:19 p.m. — Identity deception. Someone used the Social Security number of a Logansport resident for utility services. LPD.

7:09 p.m. — Property-damage accident, U.S. 35 South and U.S. 24 East. A semi driven by James Corley Jr., 61, Phoenix, Ariz., rolled on its side. CCSD.

10:45 p.m. — Personal-injury accident, Cass County Road 700W and 450N. A vehicle driven by Sharon Denise Miller, 37, Royal Center, was reportedly southbound on 700W when it swerved to miss a deer. The vehicle reportedly went off the west side of the road, sideswiped a Carroll County REMC utility pole and struck a culvert. The vehicle came to rest in a cornfield. A passenger in the vehicle, John M. Miller, 38, Royal Center, sustained injuries to his head. He was treated at Logansport Memorial Hospital and released. Sharon Denise Miller was arrested on a charge of leaving the scene of a personal-injury accident. CCSD.
